Yesterday I found my grandma’s collection of bags from the 60′ and 70’s. Let me tell you my grandma had style, and each bag came with matching shoes and gloves (which sadly don’t fit me). For last night I chose the white bag to match my white skirt! In the next few posts, I’ll try to show the other bags as well!
Last week Zagreb hosted the annual Animafest, which is a competition film festival for animated movies. I had a chance to see this amazing animated movie called Approved for Adoption by Jung who retells the story of his Korean origins and the adoption into a Belgian family, and I strongly recommend that you see it. I cried like a baby. You can watch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTz4nWpL5DI
That day I wore comfortable baggy pants, paired with even more comfortable wedges. The cardigan was made by my grandma! 🙂
For such a small country, Croatia has a surprisingly rich fashion design scene. One such designer team are I-GLE (Martina Vrdoljak Ranilović and Nataša Mihaljčišin), who have been well-established since 1997. The pics below are from a campaign shot by Decker and Kutić, which perfectly illustrate how fashion can become art.

One perk of this very “gender unspecified” fashion is that you can buy male clothes which are usually better material and lower prices. The Amancio Ortega clan (Zara, Bershka, Pull and Bear…) are definitely the stores to rummage through the male sections. The sizes of shirts and sweaters are pretty small and the clothes fit especially well if you are not built like an average girl (I’m for example quite tall).
So next time you go shopping check out what’s in store for men, for a change.
One advantage of owning a bike is not having to take public transportation, which always manages to annoy me (crowded, smelly and slow). But from time to time it is fun to take the tram cuz you can inadvertently observe people and their outfits.
Here are two to of such “observations”! The girl on the left I liked a lot, cuz she combined a retro polka-dot skirt with more modern accessories such as the white All Star sneakers or the plastic bag. The girl on the right…well…I don’t really get it.
